Psychology Magazine (Psihologia azi)

I have launched Psihologia Azi in 2003. First issue, on 17th of november 2003, came with a straight mission: “Psihologia Azi is a magazine produced by psycholoogists and journalists, addressing to the large audience,  in order to create a large awareness of psychology”.

Psychology was forbidden by Ceausescu’s regime from 1978, so in 1989, after the revolution, it re-started almost from zero. This gap in normal development of psychology could not be overwhelmed by our psychology movement. The first young psychologists begin to graduate in 1995, teached by the old generation of professors.

In the first 4 years, Psihologia azi had as first objective education of the population and promoting psychology as a science. So, Psihologia azi formed a large psychology niche in romanian media. Since 2007, after Romania entered European Union, the society developed at a higer rate, and there has appeared a need for more scientific psychology, so the magazine adapted, including more science and partnerships with Scientific American Mind, Psychology Today( from US) and Skeptical Inquirer Magazine.

After all these years, Psihologia Azi has become a leader of the magazines market in the psychology field, with a monthly circulation of 20.000 copies and an audience of almost 100.000 persons per month.
